And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the people of Pharaoh; will they not be godfearing?' 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 Pharaoh said: "Did we not bring you up among us when you were a child? 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. But [since] then my Sustainer has endowed me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and has made me one of [His] message-bearers. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 (Moses continued): "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers before you." 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared white to the onlookers. 33
