Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
