No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to humans, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
