Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
