The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
