And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 They are enemies to me except the Lord of all the Worlds 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 yet they who have seduced us [into believing in you] are the truly guilty ones! 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 and no sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily in this is a Sign but most of them do not believe. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
