[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my household. 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 and let him share my task 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
