The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 And shade extended 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
