NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
