The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
