The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house! 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed. 9 Woe, that Day, to the deniers, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 Not at all – but rather their earnings have heaped rust upon their hearts. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a written book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 The last thereof (that wine) will be the smell of musk, and for this let (all) those strive who want to strive (i.e. hasten earnestly to the obedience of Allah). 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Will not the Unbelievers have been paid back for what they did? 36
