The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
