The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you have no fear of God? 106 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 107 So be fearful of God and listen to me. 108 I seek of you no reward for this: my reward is with none except the Lord of the Universe. 109 so fear you God, and obey you me.' 110 ۞ They answered: "Shall we accept you even though it is the meanest of people who follow you?" 111 He said: "And what do I know as to what they do? 112 Lo! their reckoning is my Lord's concern, if ye but knew; 113 I would not drive away the believers; 114 "I am sent only to warn plainly in public." 115 Said they: "Indeed, if thou desist not, O Noah, thou wilt surely be stoned to death!" 116 He said: My Lord! Surely my people give me the lie! 117 hence, lay Thou wide open the truth between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me!" 118 So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones. 120 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 121 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 122
