The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
