Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 65 “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.” 66 Say: 'It is a mighty tiding 67 "From which you turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the chiefs on high when they disputed; 69 Naught is revealed unto me except that I am a warner manifest. 70 (Remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Truly, I am going to create man from clay". 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down before him in prostration!" 72 And the angels did obeisance, all of them, 73 except iblis (satan, the father of the jinn), he became too proud, for he was one of the unbelievers. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust. 76 (God) said: "Then go hence, ostracised. 77 and My curse shall remain upon you till the Day of Resurrection.” 78 He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. 79 He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved 80 Till the period of the time made known. 81 He said, “Therefore, by oath of Your honour, I will surely mislead all of them.” 82 excepting those Thy servants among them that are sincere.' 83 Said He, 'This is the truth, and the truth I say; 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender. 86 It is nothing but a reminder unto all beings, 87 you shall before long know its truth." 88
