Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
