Iron (Al-Hadeed)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All whatever is in the heavens and in the earth proclaims the Purity of Allah; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Wise. 1 To Him belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth; He gives life, and He makes to die, and He is powerful over everything. 2 He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward; and He is Knower of all things. 3 He it is who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, and He is firm in power; He knows that which goes deep down into the earth and that which comes forth out of it, and that which comes down from the heaven and that which goes up into it, and He is with you wherever you are; and Allah sees what you do. 4 To Him belong the heavens and the earth and to Him all things return. 5 He causes the night to pass into the day, and causes the day to pass into the night, and He fully knows all that is hidden in the breasts of people. 6 Believe in Allah and His Apostle, and spend out of what He has made you to be successors of; for those of you who believe and spend shall have a great reward. 7 How is it with you, that you believe not in God seeing that the Messenger is calling you to believe in your Lord, and He has taken compact with you, if you are believers? 8 He it is who sends down clear communications upon His servant, that he may bring you forth from utter darkness into light; and most surely Allah is Kind, Merciful to you. 9 And why do you not spend in the cause of Allah while to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth? Not equal among you are those who spent before the conquest [of Makkah] and fought [and those who did so after it]. Those are greater in degree than they who spent afterwards and fought. But to all Allah has promised the best [reward]. And Allah, with what you do, is Acquainted. 10
