The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking (one another)? 1 (It is) of the awful tidings, 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 [So We shall say], "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
