And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
