The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 shun uncleanness; 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)! 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 What could make you conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It spares nothing; it leaves nothing intact; 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31
