Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
