The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
