The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
