Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 In which are high thrones. 13 Goblets set, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
