And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45). 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 if He so wills, He stills the wind, and then they lie motionless on the sea's surface - [and] herein, behold, there are messages indeed for all who are wholly patient in adversity and deeply grateful [to God]; 33 Or He may make them founder for what they have earned, and (even then) pardon most; 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loveth not those who do wrong. 40 And whosoever harms after he has been harmed there is no blame upon them. 41 The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom. 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43
