So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe! 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 And be patient upon your Lord’s command, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), for you are indeed in Our sight; and proclaim the Purity of your Lord while praising Him, whenever you stand. 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
