Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 separating one from another, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 Till an appointed term, 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
