Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
