And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 See you not that they speak about every subject (praising others right or wrong) in their poetry? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
