The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points. 5 Surely We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment, the stars, 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 "What! when we die, and become dust and bones, shall we (then) be raised up (again) 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Yes, and you shall then be humiliated." 18 So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
