Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
