The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He hath created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
