Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
