The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Thereafter you will certainly die 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 We have created seven heavens above you and have never been neglectful to Our Creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
