Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know what you do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
