A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 and the shadow of a smoking blaze 43 neither cold nor graceful in shape. 44 Surely they had lived before in luxury, 45 and had persisted in the Great Sin. 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 And upon it, you will drink the hot boiling water. 54 drink it as the most insatiably thirsty camels drink!" 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 It is He who created you, then why do you not affirm the truth? 57 Did you ever consider the sperm that you emit? 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us 60 That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 Behold! that which ye sow. 63 Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 "Verily, we are ruined! 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Behold! the water which ye drink: 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world). 73 Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 74
