The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
