The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
