The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
