Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 Lower thy wing to those who follow thee, being believers; 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
