۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 The statement of Our Lord is realized against us, and we are tasting it, 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
