۞ Say: O my servants! who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful. 53 Turn towards your Lord and obey Him before the punishment comes upon you when you will not be helped. 54 Follow the best of what has been revealed to you by your Lord before the punishment overtakes you suddenly and you are caught unawares, 55 lest any human being should say [on Judgment Day,] "Alas for me for having been remiss in what is due to God, and for having been indeed one of those who scoffed [at the truth]!" 56 Or (lest) he should say: "If only Allah had guided me, I should indeed have been among the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2)." 57 Or, he may say as he sees the punishment, "Would that I had a second chance, so that I could be among the doers of good." 58 (But now the answer will be): Nay, for My revelations came unto thee, but thou didst deny them and wast scornful and wast among the disbelievers. 59 On the Day of Judgment wilt thou see those who told lies against Allah;- their faces will be turned black; Is there not in Hell an abode for the Haughty? 60 But God will safeguard all who were conscious of Him, [and will grant them happiness] by virtue of their [inner] triumphs; no evil shall ever touch them, and neither shall they grieve. 61 Allah is the Creator of all things, and of all things He is the Guardian. 62 To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And they who disbelieve in the verses of Allah - it is those who are the losers. 63
