Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
