The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
