And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
