THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 We saved them and their people from great distress; 115 And We helped them, so they were the vanquishers. 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture; 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 Verily! They were two of Our believing slaves. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 He said to his people, "Have you no fear [of God?] 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 God, your Sustainer and the Sustainer of your forebears of old?" 126 But they rejected him, and they will certainly be called up (for punishment),- 127 excepting only [those who were] God's true servants; 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind; 135 and We destroyed the rest. 136 You pass by (their ruined town) in the morning 137 and in the night; will you not understand? 138
