Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
