The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 And the hills are ground to powder 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those on the right. 38
