He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 to him thou attendest 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and in awe of God 9 you ignore him. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 On honoured leaves 13 most exalted and purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
