The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. God is witness over all things. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
